20 Months Old ... Londyn Grace is SO close to TWO?!!

Twenty months ago this afternoon, I was actively laboring in our bedroom upstairs, the very room where my 20 month old is currently napping!

We've come a long way from that rainy Wednesday in October.

Today that tiny 6 pound 5 ounce darling is a full-fledged toddler.

I'm still in awe at how much having children affects your concept of time!

she sat down and said "Cheese!"
At twenty months, LG weighs around 22 pounds and measures 32 inches tall. She is wearing most 18 month clothes, but can still fit into a lot of her smaller stuff since she is pretty petite. I even dug out her smocked flag dress from the 4th last year and it fit her perfectly (just shorter) for Memorial Day! We are still waiting on her canine teeth! I think I've mentioned them in every post since January! They finally cut the surface, but aren't all the way through, yet!

I would say her biggest accomplishment this month was adding more words to her vocabulary. When I wrote last month's post, she was at around 60 words. She's now saying:

*downstairs
*upstairs
*trash (this has been on the list for awhile, but I don't think I ever listed it! She's a bit obsessed with throwing away garbage!)
* seat (for her carseat, highchair or any chair)
When we make pancakes in the morning:
*butter
*"Flip! Flip!"
*"Stir! Stir!"
* Bowl

*Beep! Beep!
*Box
*Tape
* Money

*Elbow
*Chin

* Brother (for Liam)

*lobster (at the grocery store)
*giraffe
* monkey

She is still a singer at heart and loves to watch songs on YouTube. She's only allowed about a half hour each day, but she'd watch them for hours if we'd let her!

She sings "E-I-E-I-O" so passionately during Old MacDonald Had a Farm! She still loves Itsy Bitsy Spider and The Wheels on the Bus. She also knows lots of animal sounds. You can see her in action in this video! I have no idea why it posted sideways! :(

She can identify lots of body parts.

She loves to play with her magnetic alphabet letters and knows how to pick out S and Y.

Sugar Pie has become quite the artist and insists on removing the paper from every crayon!

Her favorite thing to do is carry a million toys around at once. If she's playing with babies, she has to have all of her babies in her arms. If she's playing with her puzzles, she fills her arms with the pieces. Not sure what that's about?! :)

We're pretty much the same in the eating department. Doing great for breakfast and not so great the rest of the day. Her menu hasn't changed much from last month. However she did experience Mickey D's chicken nuggets and french fries for the first time. We don't eat out often and when we do we don't typically choose McDonald's, but I took her there to play on the playground and she loved it.

This month she fed the ducks at the pond (pictures from that evening coming soon!) and it was hard to drag her away! She had a blast.

Her new favorite toy is her slide that a gracious church family gifted us! She spends most of her outside time on the slide.

I didn't do as well as I have in previous months at keeping my phone list going, but here are some of the moments I did manage to record...

I sneezed and you said "nose" and brought me a tissue!

I was sniffling in the car and heard you copying me!

You wanted to reach the lamp in your room that plays music so you went in mommy and daddy's room and got a chair and wanted me to put it near the table where the lamp is so that you could reach it!

Went to Chuck E Cheese for the first time!

When you woke up from your nap you asked to go downstairs

We were at Goodwill and you saw a rack of men's dress pants and said "Daddy!"

I was packing PPV orders and you started mimicking me! You picked up a mug and got a trash bag out of the cabinet, wrapped up the mug just like I do!

We were waiting in the car while Daddy was in the store and you asked, "Mommy, where's Daddy?!"

You were using my tape measure and measuring the salt and pepper shakers you were playing with!

You told me "I love you!" without me saying it first!!

Londyn Grace is still doing an amazing job in her big girl bed! Sleeping through from 8:30-9:00 to
around 7:30-8:00 each morning. When she wakes up, she lays in bed and calls for me, "Mommy! Mommy!" It is such a sweet sound. Then she will climb out of bed and drag both of her blankets with her into our room where she climbs into bed with me to snuggle and nurse for a few minutes before asking for "oatmeal!" She is napping pretty consistently each afternoon from 12:30 to around 2 or 2:30!

She learned how to go down the stairs all by herself in the last week or so. Up until then she would hold the railing and my hand. Now she can do it without help even though it still makes me nervous!

She loves to ride in her stroller and in the grocery cart. Her favorite part of grocery shopping is seeing the tank of lobsters in the meat department!

Goosey has really taken to her Daddy this month and asks for him all day long. If you ask her where he is, she answers, "Church!"

I feel like I sound like a broken record each month, but we just can't imagine life without our Stinker!

She brings so much joy to our family!

  1. I love when I can get more than one year out of Charlotte's clothes. I like using some of her dresses as shirt/tunics. My oldest was the same way - a champion eater at breakfast but not so much the rest of the day. But he's starting to grow out of that now. Love LG's vocabulary! Lobster! She knows the good stuff!
