Storms & Sprinklers

It's hard to believe that it's the end of June! Summer is here and so is the sunshine! We've had a very warm week here in Jersey. It was in the 90's a few days earlier this week.

A couple weeks ago, we had an early evening rain storm just before dinner. It was warm out so we went out on the front porch. Londyn Grace was in her glory. She loves to watch the rain.

After a few minutes of her ooing and ahing over it, I took her out and let her stand it! It's crazy to think that a girl who hates her hair washed at bathtime loved being soaked by the water in the storm.

I think she would've stood out there for an hour if I let her!

Pure joy!

After her little adventure in the rain, Daniel and I thought she would love the sprinkler. He set it up for her a few Saturday evenings ago while I dressed her in her new bathing suit.

I was so excited to see her reaction to the spraying water.

But...

Apparently sprinklers and storms are two different things! :(

We tried several times to show her how much fun it was, but she was not convinced.

This was so surprising since she rarely cries over anything!

So, we dried off and went back to playing!

She was much happier on her little slide! :)

29 weeks with our baby boy!

My last week in the twenties has come to a close! Yesterday marked 30 weeks along with our little man! I just can't believe he'll be here in 10 weeks or less!

Size of Baby:  He should weigh about two and half pounds now! His brain is rapidly developing!

Total Weight Gain/Loss:  Still haven't weighed in.  But I'm sure over the 3o I had gained the last time I did!

Maternity Clothes: My sweet mama found this maternity dress from Target at Goodwill! It was super long (even though I'm pretty average in height {5' 6"} so my Mom Mom altered it for me!

Gender:  It's a BOY!! Our sweet Liam Daniel :)

Movement: Still moving more in the evening!

Sleep:  Sleeping pretty well other than having some major heartburn and crazy dreams!

What I miss:  Nothing! Pregnancy is such a wonderful thing!

Cravings: Not feeling as hungry this week. I think the heat has taken some of my appetite.

Symptoms: Heartburn & super realistic, but super weird dreams!

Best moment this week: Hearing his heartbeat again! It never gets old! Also finding out that I passed my glucose test! My iron was a little low so my midwife had me start an iron supplement!

28 weeks with Liam Daniel

We're another week closer to meeting our baby boy! I finished up my 28th week this past Monday and yet again question where it went?! It has gone so much faster this time around!

Size of Baby:  He should weigh a little over two pounds now! His can open and close his eyes which now have lashes!

Total Weight Gain/Loss:  Haven't gotten on the scale lately, but probably over the 30 pounds I had gained the last time I weighed in.

Maternity Clothes: This week's dress isn't maternity, but pretty stretchy so it works!

Gender:  It's a BOY!! Our sweet Liam Daniel :)

Movement: Moving more in the evening!

Sleep:  Sleeping pretty well!

What I miss:  Nothing! Pregnancy is such a wonderful thing!

Cravings: Just feeling more hungry overall. No specific cravings.

Symptoms: A few more charlie horses in my left calf, more heartburn, and feeling tired, but overall really feeling great!

Best moment this week: Finding a birth day gown and hat that I love! There are a ton of options on Etsy, but very few offer newborn size! Most start at 0-3 months and if Liam is as small or around the size of Londyn Grace at birth even newborn will be large on him so I know 0-3 is just not going to work. I finally found a shop that will make a gown in newborn (she even does preemie!) so I'm excited to order it and cross one more thing off my "Before Liam Arrives" checklist!

Vintage Dresses and My New Camera

After a very long 2 and half weeks, my new camera finally arrived! I couldn't stand that I was missing the opportunity to capture precious moments on film my memory card! My iPhone is ancient and has a terrible camera, not to mention it has pretty much zero storage, so it just wasn't doing the job! (I'm not eligible for an upgrade until October! Definitely the downside of a contract!)

Once it finally got here, I couldn't wait to get Londyn Grace dressed in her newest vintage dress and head outside for a few pictures!

I'm slightly addicted to Insta-shopping these days and in love with all the vintage gorgeousness I've found lately!

This striped sailboat dress just screams summer to me!

I love the mix of pink and blue!

LG was just happy to be outside and Mama was happy to be behind the camera again!

She was singing "E-I-E-I-O!" in this picture!

She squints her eyes when she's really happy or laughing!

She wants to ride this tricycle so badly, but hasn't quite figured out how to pedal.

I'm so glad that I have a camera again and can capture all of the fun we are going to have this summer!

If you follow us on Instagram {@ephthreetwenty}, I am using the hashtag #lgssecondsummer to keep track of all of our memories!

So far we've blown bubbles, fed the ducks at the pond, played at a new playground, went for lots of stroller rides, attempted to play in the sprinkler and so much more!

I have so much to post about and hope to get caught up in the next few days!

I'm linking up with Ashley at Words about Waverly for the Little Things link-up! :)

20 Months Old ... Londyn Grace is SO close to TWO?!!

Twenty months ago this afternoon, I was actively laboring in our bedroom upstairs, the very room where my 20 month old is currently napping!

We've come a long way from that rainy Wednesday in October.

Today that tiny 6 pound 5 ounce darling is a full-fledged toddler.

I'm still in awe at how much having children affects your concept of time!

she sat down and said "Cheese!"
At twenty months, LG weighs around 22 pounds and measures 32 inches tall. She is wearing most 18 month clothes, but can still fit into a lot of her smaller stuff since she is pretty petite. I even dug out her smocked flag dress from the 4th last year and it fit her perfectly (just shorter) for Memorial Day! We are still waiting on her canine teeth! I think I've mentioned them in every post since January! They finally cut the surface, but aren't all the way through, yet!

I would say her biggest accomplishment this month was adding more words to her vocabulary. When I wrote last month's post, she was at around 60 words. She's now saying:

*downstairs
*upstairs
*trash (this has been on the list for awhile, but I don't think I ever listed it! She's a bit obsessed with throwing away garbage!)
* seat (for her carseat, highchair or any chair)
When we make pancakes in the morning:
*butter
*"Flip! Flip!"
*"Stir! Stir!"
* Bowl

*Beep! Beep!
*Box
*Tape
* Money

*Elbow
*Chin

* Brother (for Liam)

*lobster (at the grocery store)
*giraffe
* monkey

She is still a singer at heart and loves to watch songs on YouTube. She's only allowed about a half hour each day, but she'd watch them for hours if we'd let her!

She sings "E-I-E-I-O" so passionately during Old MacDonald Had a Farm! She still loves Itsy Bitsy Spider and The Wheels on the Bus. She also knows lots of animal sounds. You can see her in action in this video! I have no idea why it posted sideways! :(

She can identify lots of body parts.

She loves to play with her magnetic alphabet letters and knows how to pick out S and Y.

Sugar Pie has become quite the artist and insists on removing the paper from every crayon!

Her favorite thing to do is carry a million toys around at once. If she's playing with babies, she has to have all of her babies in her arms. If she's playing with her puzzles, she fills her arms with the pieces. Not sure what that's about?! :)

We're pretty much the same in the eating department. Doing great for breakfast and not so great the rest of the day. Her menu hasn't changed much from last month. However she did experience Mickey D's chicken nuggets and french fries for the first time. We don't eat out often and when we do we don't typically choose McDonald's, but I took her there to play on the playground and she loved it.

This month she fed the ducks at the pond (pictures from that evening coming soon!) and it was hard to drag her away! She had a blast.

Her new favorite toy is her slide that a gracious church family gifted us! She spends most of her outside time on the slide.

I didn't do as well as I have in previous months at keeping my phone list going, but here are some of the moments I did manage to record...

I sneezed and you said "nose" and brought me a tissue!

I was sniffling in the car and heard you copying me!

You wanted to reach the lamp in your room that plays music so you went in mommy and daddy's room and got a chair and wanted me to put it near the table where the lamp is so that you could reach it!

Went to Chuck E Cheese for the first time!

When you woke up from your nap you asked to go downstairs

We were at Goodwill and you saw a rack of men's dress pants and said "Daddy!"

I was packing PPV orders and you started mimicking me! You picked up a mug and got a trash bag out of the cabinet, wrapped up the mug just like I do!

We were waiting in the car while Daddy was in the store and you asked, "Mommy, where's Daddy?!"

You were using my tape measure and measuring the salt and pepper shakers you were playing with!

You told me "I love you!" without me saying it first!!

Londyn Grace is still doing an amazing job in her big girl bed! Sleeping through from 8:30-9:00 to
around 7:30-8:00 each morning. When she wakes up, she lays in bed and calls for me, "Mommy! Mommy!" It is such a sweet sound. Then she will climb out of bed and drag both of her blankets with her into our room where she climbs into bed with me to snuggle and nurse for a few minutes before asking for "oatmeal!" She is napping pretty consistently each afternoon from 12:30 to around 2 or 2:30!

She learned how to go down the stairs all by herself in the last week or so. Up until then she would hold the railing and my hand. Now she can do it without help even though it still makes me nervous!

She loves to ride in her stroller and in the grocery cart. Her favorite part of grocery shopping is seeing the tank of lobsters in the meat department!

Goosey has really taken to her Daddy this month and asks for him all day long. If you ask her where he is, she answers, "Church!"

I feel like I sound like a broken record each month, but we just can't imagine life without our Stinker!

She brings so much joy to our family!

27 weeks

Wow. I cannot believe we are this far already! Time is flying. SO fast.

June 1st. Summer is here, and our baby boy should make his entrance into our family in 12 weeks or less!

Size of Baby:  He should weigh close to two pounds now! Mama's belly is definitely showing his size! :)

Total Weight Gain/Loss:  +30 pounds
finally back to weekly pics since I received my new camera!
notice LG's artwork in the right corner of the chalkboard!
Maternity Clothes: Bought the dress I'm wearing in this week's picture the other night. It's not maternity so I just got a size bigger than my pre-preggo size! I also ordered and received my dress for our maternity/family pictures in a few weeks!

Gender:  It's a BOY!! Our sweet Liam Daniel :)

Movement: Moving every day, but still seems to move less than his big sister did.

Sleep:  Sleeping pretty well!

What I miss:  Nothing! Pregnancy is such a wonderful thing!

Cravings: I've been loving pb & j on honey wheat bread!

Symptoms: Spending a little more time in the restroom lately! He must be resting on my bladder! He's so much lower than Londyn Grace was. I remember her being up under my ribs. My midwife said it's pretty common with second pregnancies since you're more stretched than before.

Best moment this week: Hearing his heartbeat again at my appointment with my midwife a few days ago. I'm measuring on track and my blood pressure is perfect. I'm so thankful for a smooth pregnancy thus far.
