Londyn Grace is a year and a half!

18 months! Another half of a year has passed already?! How can she be halfway to two?! Weren't we just planning her first birthday party and taking her one year portraits?!

If the first year went by fast so far the second has surpassed it and seems to be flying by with no signs of slowing down!

It is amazing how much of a baby she seemed like when looking back at pictures and her update from October. Fast forward just six short months ahead and we have a toddler on our hands!

Talking and doing so much on her own! At her first birthday party, she wasn't even walking yet!

I am so surprised and so thrilled with how verbal she is becoming! I had kind of braced myself for a bit of a delay with speech since the pediatrician thought she may take a little longer being an only child, but she proved him wrong!

This was the list of words from last month:

*Mama
*Dada
*Nonnyn (Londyn)
*Mimi       (my mom)
*Pop Pop (my dad)
*Grammy (Daniel's mom)
*Mom Mom (my grandmother)
*Johnny (Uncle Johnny)

*Tammy (my cousin)
*Duke (a little boy at church)
*Chloe (the little girl I've started keeping during the week)
*Jesus
*Please
*No
*Yes
*Bye
*Hi
*Baby
*Hot
*Nose
*Eyes
*Belly
*Mouth
*Knee
*Birdie
*Dog
*Snow
*"I don't know"
*Uh-oh
*Tweet tweet
*Baa
*Neigh
*Cheese (when smiling for the camera)

Over the past four weeks she has added so many! Here are a few of the words/phrases she now says,

*Mommy (instead of mama)
*toothpaste (she loves to brush her teeth)
*boo-boo
*Bible (she calls the hymnals at church, Bibles!)
*"I need more." (Her first full sentence!)
*Peas (her favorite veggie)
* Pancakes
* Oatmeal  (her two go-to breakfast foods)
*Moo
*"Excuse me!" (after burping)
* Is-sis (her attempt at Lyssa (my little cousin))
* Auntie
* Megan (my sister)
* "Love you!"
*bas-ball (basketball)
*cookie
*purple
*shoes

Her little voice is so so sweet!

Goosey begins the second half of her second year at twenty two pounds and 31 and half inches tall. She is mainly wearing 12 month clothes with some 18 month dresses for length. She can actually still fit in her 9 month onesies!

She has done well with eating this month adding a few more foods to her list of likes. She still loves peas, any kind of soup, and any kind of pasta. She discovered shredded cheese and loves it which I was surprised by since she doesn't like cheese slices. She is not loving any kind of meat so that's been a challenge. She has a pancake and oatmeal obsession! Her constipation has gotten so much better since she has started drinking better!

I cannot believe that she is still nursing a year and half after those early days that I thought we would never make it through, but she is! Now it is only twice a day, at naptime and bedtime. She still dreamfeeds during the night which means she is still not sleeping through! She typically sleeps from 9:30 to between 2:00-4:00 in her crib and then comes to snuggle with us in our bed until we have to get up at 7:15 for Chloe to be dropped off. She naps well usually for about two hours after lunch.

She doesn't watch tv much at all, but loves to watch basketball! She is her father's daughter, that's for sure! She loves puzzles, balls, and her play food for her kitchen set that Pop Pop and Mimi built her for Christmas. She loves to sing and is almost constantly singing the little songs she makes up! She has such a cheerful spirit!

Along with so many other things I couldn't possibly list, here are a few of the things I want to remember from this past month!

March 6 - after you finished your snack, you picked up your plate and licked it!

March 7 - asked you to close the door and you had to shut the gate first!

You brought me the detangler and your brush and wanted me to do your hair

March 8 - we were thrifting and you saw a container of matchbox cars. There was a rug with a road and city on it which you've never seen before, but you grabbed a car and started driving it on the road!

I picked you up and said "I love you!" and you willingly gave me a kiss!

March 9 - you fist bumped one of the teens at church! So cute!

March 10 - asked for "toothpaste"  for your toothbrush

Said "thank you" to Daddy when he opened something for you

Ate pancake batter (yuck!)

March 12 - pointed out most of the pictures on the front cover of your 100 first words book!

March 17 - said "Purple!" when Mimi was doing colors with you

Discovered plastic Easter eggs at a thrift shop! You were in love!

were playing with uncle Johnny and Auntie in the bedroom and came out in the living room for a minute, said "Megan! Jo-Jo!" and went back into the room where they were!

March 18 said "Love You!"

Asked for Pop Pop on FaceTime as soon as you woke up!

March 20th - I was getting diapers ready for laundry and I asked you to bring me the wipes which were in the living room. You walked away and came back with the wipes!

March 21st - you were getting ready to turn on the tv and I asked you what you wanted to watch you said "basketball" which is what was on when the picture appeared! Then you said "Dada"

March 28 - had your first ice cream cone!

March 29 - you said "excuse me" after you burped (when I asked you what do you say?)

You have mastered "more" when you want another bite.

You clearly said "I need juice" when you came looking for your sippy cup

We went to the park for the first time this year and it was her first time as a walker! Let's just say it's now a whole different ball game! She was all over that playground! She loved the slide, but surprisingly wasn't a fan of the swing! Last year, she loved it!  I'm hoping she will learn to love it again!

She is very mobile! Walking, running, climbing! She loves the stairs and is trying hard to climb them like a big girl instead of crawling up them.

I feel like I'm probably forgetting so much because it literally seems like she is doing or learning something new every single day, but this gives you a pretty good picture of who she is at 18 months old!

She is our truly our joy!

Londyn Grace,

How can you be halfway to two?! What a wonderful 6 months it has been since your first birthday! You are becoming such a big girl and Daddy and Mama are loving every minute of it! We are so excited to see what the next six months bring for you, Lovey! Keep growing and being your sweet, happy, friendly self and lighting up every room you enter! We praise the Lord for the precious gift of you!!

Love, "Dada & Mommy" as you call us these days!

Sixteen & Seventeen Weeks {baby number two}

Here I am over 18 weeks along and two weeks behind on my bumpdates! Between chasing after Londyn Grace, babysitting and keeping my insta-shop, Peeling Paint Vintage , up and running, I haven't made the time to post until now! Both girls are currently napping so I have a few minutes!

Size of Baby:  At seventeen weeks, baby was around 5 ounces, the size of a turnip! He or she can move her joints!

Total Weight Gain/Loss:  I finally weighed myself and was surprised by the number on the scale. I know I've been eating better this time around than I did with LG, but I've still managed to gain 20 pounds in 18 weeks! How did that happen?!

Maternity Clothes:  Finally made it to the store and bought a few things that actually fit! :)

Gender:  The party is less than two weeks away!

Movement: Because I felt Londyn Grace move at 16 weeks, I anticipated the same with this baby. Yet at 18 weeks 1 day, I haven't felt anything. My midwife is supposed to drop by this afternoon to listen for the heartbeat.

Sleep:  Sleeping pretty well!

What I miss:  Nothing! Pregnancy is such a wonderful thing!

Cravings: Nothing specific this week.

Symptoms:  Some days I don't even feel pregnant now that the nausea is gone and my main symptom is mostly just tiredness,

Best moment this week:  Planning for the gender reveal! You all know my love for party planning and it's much more fun when this party means knowing who will be making us a family of four!

15 weeks with sweet baby number two

Well, I'm 16 weeks and 2 days, but I never posted my bump-date for last week! We even took the picture on time and everything, but my new babysitting job has proved to wipe me out by nine each night so after we get home from our various nightly activities (Bible study, prayer meeting, Upward basketball, discipleship, etc.) I am beyond ready for bed!

Anyway, here are my stats and info for week fifteen.

Size of Baby: Baby is the size of an apple and may be sucking his/her thumb!

Total Weight Gain/Loss:  Determined to get on the scale later today. It's been awhile so we shall see!

Maternity Clothes:  Still (sort of!) fitting into my regular clothes, but have a trip to Target on my to-do list! I need a few basics like long-sleeved tees and yoga pants to wear around the house! Daniel would probably like his clothes back!

Gender:  24 days until we'll know! And we may have decided on our girl name!!

Movement: Nothing significant yet, but I am anxiously waiting. According to my 16 week post with LG, I first felt her then!

Sleep:  Sleeping pretty well overall! Morning comes way too early now that I have to get up for Chloe to get here!

What I miss:  Nothing! Pregnancy is such a wonderful thing!

Cravings: Nothing specific this week.

Symptoms:  No more nausea. Just feeling tired and having a bit of heartburn when I lay down at night. I am having nose bleeds again which I had when pregnant with Londyn Grace.

Best moment this week:  Having another appointment with my midwife and hearing the sweet little heartbeat once more! My blood pressure is good and I'm measuring right on track!

Londyn Grace is Seventeen Months Old!

My Goose turned seventeen months old on Monday. Wow! And I thought the first year went fast! How is it that almost half of year two has passed already?!

She is growing and changing so much these days! Seemingly becoming more and more of the big sister she will be in just a few short months!

She is still tiny compared to most her age, but is weighing in right at 20 pounds. I need to measure her soon!  She is still wearing her 12 month clothes! We've been able to get a lot of wear out of all of her clothes since she's stayed on the smaller side! She can actually still wear her 9 month onesies! I am starting to buy 18 months skirts just for their length and so they fit better over her cloth diapers.

She now has 14 teeth! She cut four more teeth this month, bottom molars and bottom

This month she has really started talking. She will try to repeat almost anything we ask her to and most of the time it ends up sounding a lot like the word she was aiming for!

Her vocabulary includes:

Mama
Dada
Nonnyn (Londyn)
Mimi       (my mom)
Pop pop (my dad)
Grammy (Daniel's mom)
Mom Mom (my grandmother)
Johnny (Uncle Johnny)Tammy (my cousin)
Duke (a little boy at church)
Chloe (the little girl I've started keeping during the week)
Jesus
Please
No
Yes
Bye
Hi
Baby
Hot
Nose
Eyes
Belly
Mouth
Knee
Birdie
Dog
Snow

"I don't know"
Uh-oh

Tweet tweet
Baa
Neigh

Cheese (when smiling for the camera)

She can point to her hair, eyes, nose, mouth, ears, belly, knees, and feet and say most of those words! If you ask her what's in mama's belly she will say "Baby!" (Actually she now think everyone has a baby in their belly!) She knows the sounds for a bird, sheep and horse so far along with her panting if you ask what a doggie does. She uses please in context and uses it often! She thinks it gets her whatever she wants! ;)

She is still our social butterfly politely greeting anyone and everyone she meets. She will say, "Bye!" even if someone is just leaving the room!

When she says "I don't know" she puts her hands out and kind of shrugs! It's super precious!

If you ask her what a surprised baby does, she opens her mouth in shock! She can also show you what sleepy baby does!

She has really enjoyed having Chloe here to play with this week. We are hoping it will help her to adjust to sharing my attention and learning to interact with other children before the baby gets here. She's done really well with sharing her toys.

Overall she continues to be our happy, easygoing girl, but her temper and impatience have shown themselves a bit lately. We are working on that!

She is taking one really good nap each afternoon which usually lasts around an hour and a half to two hours, but she is still waking up once at night.

Over the past month, we traveled A LOT for funerals, but she did really well in the car.

As for eating, we are finding more foods that seem to be here favorites so we haven't had as much of an issue with the pickiness. Every morning, she goes right to the cabinet where I keep the pancake mix to tell me she wants her daily pancake! She still loves yogurt, raisins and graham crackers. For lunch, she loves chicken noodle soup or any soup for that matter or spaghetti. At dinner time, her favorite vegetables are definitely peas and corn!

We are still working on getting her to drink enough from her sippy cup. Though she is still nursing, my supply has dropped significantly due to the pregnancy and she isn't getting much milk. We've had some terrible constipation issues as a result of her lack of hydration, but over the last week we're up to two sippy cups of water/juice a day which is a huge improvement.

I kept the list going this month of some of the cute things our Lovey Lou has done, but it's not quite as lengthy as in months past due to all the craziness of traveling and spending time with family.

2/7 said "teeth" you love to brush your teeth!

2/8 woke up to the first sounds of birds chirping so I had you stop and listen. I said "say birdie" and you did! Then I said "say tweet tweet" and you did!

2/10 I asked you to say "please" for a cookie and you did!

2/11 I was getting ready for the day when you stopped and stood really still and said something. I took me a minute to realize you were saying "birdie" because you heard them chirping!

2/12 the first thing you said when you woke up was "birdie" "tweet, tweet!" all on your own!

2/14 you picked up my phone and said cheese when I looked at it you had the camera up!

2/14 you got your first roses for Valentine's Day (from your Daddy, of course!)

2/14 you said "please" in context wanting Daddy to give you to mama

2/18 you called Uncle Johnny "Bob!" again!

2/19 we were all sitting at Granny's and we were certain you said, "Megan!"

2/22 you said "Tammy"
                   "Grammy" for the first time

2/23 you called Duke (a little boy at church) by name!

2/28 You learned how to climb up in the recliner all by yourself

Londyn Grace learned how to "draw" on her chalkboard wall this month! Her sweet little masterpieces are so precious! She still loves to ride in her Cozy Coupe though the little circle we make around the living room and dining room doesn't provide for very long rides! We are so looking forward to getting outside once all of the snow melts! She still isn't a fan of tv, but will watch Bible songs on youtube. Her favorite is still This Little Light of Mine. She loves to watch Daddy coach the Upward basketball league at church.

The past month was another wonderful one and we praise God for all the sweet moments we were blessed to share with our Londyn girl!

13 and 14 weeks with baby number two

We've been missing in action around the blog since our Valentine's post due to another death in our family. You already know about Mamal (my maternal great grandmother) passing in mid-January. Last week, just three weeks after Mamal went to Heaven, my Granny (paternal grandmother) joined her on streets of gold. Granny's death was a bit more sudden than Mamal's since she hadn't been really sick, but nonetheless she was 87 and had lived a long life of service to the Lord. Londyn Grace and I spent the week in Maryland with family and Daniel met us for the funeral on Saturday. The service was beautiful and I believe God was glorified, just as Granny would've wanted it.

So all of this has put me a few weeks behind on my weekly bump-dates. Being pregnant always make me think of my Granny since she carried ten babies! My Daddy was the tenth of ten children!

I am 14 weeks and one day along with our sweet babe.

Size of Baby: Baby is the size of a lemon and can now make facial expressions!

Total Weight Gain/Loss:  Haven't weighed lately, but I did eat a lot of junk while home in MD last week. :(

Maternity Clothes:  Still fitting into my regular clothes, but will soon retire my button up skirts!

Gender:  Can't believe it's almost March, which means only one more month until the big reveal!

Movement: I've felt a few things that remind me of the movements I felt with LG, but again it seems too early.

Sleep:  Sleeping pretty well overall!

What I miss:  Nothing! Pregnancy is such a wonderful thing!

Cravings: I've been enjoying soda which isn't like me since I'm typically a water only type of girl!

Symptoms:  The nausea has really subsided! Last week was my best week yet in terms of not feeling
nauseous. Still tired and starting to have a little heartburn.

Best Moment this week:  Being home with family and knowing that though sweet baby number two will never meet his/her Granny, they have a rich, godly heritage because of the love she had for the Lord and the life she lived so faithfully for Him.

Be My Valentine

Last week, after Londyn Grace woke up from her nap I decided it was a good afternoon to take a few Valentine's pictures. It was finally sunny enough to get some nice light coming in the window so we needed to take advantage of it! It's been so snowy and gray! We are actually getting another snowstorm this morning! We've already had over 40 inches this season!

A month or two ago, I found this sweet little vintage dress/top in an Instagram shop and knew it would be perfect for Valentine's pictures! I hung eyelet lace and a heart banner on baker's twine on my bedroom wall and set an old chair in front of it. It always helps to have a prop or something for her to sit on to keep her interested!

It ended up being perfect timing for Daddy to come home from the church so he was able to get several sweet smiles from our precious little Valentine!

She crossed her feet on her own! So ladylike!

She is such a silly goose!

I ended up loving this one even though she's not looking at the camera! I really love how it focuses on her curls!

We are just so in love with this little lady!

Since we are snowed again today, I think we'll make a heart-shaped cake with pink icing to celebrate!

Wishing you all the sweetest Valentine's Day!
